Work from home scams

People by the thousands everyday are looking for opportunities available on the internet today. One area that people fail to realize is that building a successful Home Business requires time, effort and a determination to never quit. We all have to face and overcome hurdles and obstacles as a normal course of business.

With a major shift in the economy in the past few years, more people are working long hours in very stressful environments it is very tempting to have a serious look at the Work at Home opportunities available, especially on the internet. But how do you discern the work from home scams that are out there waiting to catch you as their latest victim. Have you got caught up in those scams? Many people everyday are falling victim to the get rich mentally. Stop it already and face reality that it takes time to develop a stable home business.

I know of experienced network marketers that even get taken advantage of in work from home scams. After all, they are positioned to trap even the most discerning would-be online entrepreneur with their get rich quick promises. Some even go as far as promising earnings of up to $1000 daily. The easiest way to overcome this temptation is realizing it takes effort and discipline. No short cuts, sorry to bust your bubble.

So how can you avoid the work from home scams?

There is no honest way to get rich quick. Many opportunities offered by email are work from home scams. Check if they have a land line or a direct way to contact the owners of the opportunity. Never send money without first investigating the company. Any legitimate company will answer your enquiries. For example, consider while researching the company, how long have they been in business, what types of products or services do they offer and talk to other’s involved in the company, especially the leadership.

Alternatively you can search for them on Google and see if there are any negatives comments about them. You can often find sites on Google that are dedicated to exposing work from home scams. Join forums and ask if others have heard of the company or know if they are genuine. Again – work from home scams tend to be well known by those who work regularly online. If the work involves creating and selling a product, make sure there is a market for it. Keyword research is the best way to ascertain market demand. Although this isn’t necessarily a scam, it is a pitfall that can often be a problem for newbies.

Some of the work from home scams I have come across make it very difficult for you to access your earnings, either by having a very high minimum pay out or no way of paying you in your country of residence.

Most companies require some sort of investment up front. That is fine, but make sure you are aware of their refund policy. If they do not have one, do not proceed. These are just a few of the precautions you need to take to ensure that you do not get caught by a work from home scam. I think the ones that say you can make thousands of dollars without investing any money are a joke. How are they going to pay you in nobody ever buys anything. Answer- they can’t.

However although these precautions are necessary to protect you from falling for the work from home scams it is worth remembering that many people do make a living working from home. It requires a great deal of hard work and self-discipline. There are no short cuts to success and you need to understand you have to work if you truly want to be successful.
